While studying, he received several awards and scholarships. After graduating from Punjab University, he did his PhD from Government of Pakistan at Glasgow University.

Teaching:

Dr. Farhat Hashmi started his career as a Lecturer in Sargodha Degree College. Shortly afterwards, he joined the International Islamic University Islamabad as a faculty member, and from the same university he received a scholarship from the University of Glasgow to pursue a PhD in Hadith. After receiving his doctorate from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, he returned to Pakistan and resumed teaching at the Islamic University.
